About

INTRO It’s a vibe, what else can I say?! This show is a journey through the art of music. It’s a trip through songs you never knew existed and an introduction to tracks you never knew you needed. As a DJ who's been in the business since the 1970s, I have decades of unique knowledge of music that deserves the spotlight. Every week, I share this musical knowledge with you. Consider it an interactive lesson! You might hear anything from Afro beats to Hip Hop to Soul to Blues to Funk to Classic Rock and more. You might discover the original version of a song sampled by your favorite artists. Or maybe you'll rediscover a song you fell in love with but couldn't find or find a new genre that speaks to your soul. My job has always been to document the journey of music. Join the Vibe Nation every week and explore music that will change how you experience it forever. FIRST PERSON BIO I'm Denise "DJ Lady Love" Briggs, and I've been an experienced DJ for over 40 years. I first fell in love with Hip Hop DJing back in 1978. I started out spinning at small parties, then got my first big break playing at the legendary Fantasia in Queens. From there, it was history. I’ve had the honor of sharing the stage with some iconic artists: The Disco Twins and Infinity Machine, Grand Wizzard Theodore, Crash Crew, the Fearless Four, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, Special K of The Treacherous Three, and Doug E. Fresh. I’m proud to be featured in the Queens Public Library’s Hip Hop Pioneers Photo Exhibit, curated by Ralph McDaniels, and I’ve received citations from both the Bronx and Queens Borough Presidents. I’ve played countless shows and events and picked up a few awards along the way. I’ve worked with 206 Zulu, MOPOP, Starbucks, and more. With MOPOP, I’ve been the DJ for unforgettable events, including the opening party for Ruth E. Carter, the Oscar-winning costume designer, and the closing of the Contact High exhibit alongside Joe Conzo Jr. and Fab 5 Freddy. I live for the love of music. Always have, always will.
